Tactical Gear – Why We Need it and How to Get it Without Breaking the Bank

tactical gear

Part of any complete preparation for a survival situation or SHTF moment includes tactical gear.

With civil unrest seemingly on the rise and the reality that in a severe survival crisis, most people are thoroughly unprepared, unless you live deep in the woods, chances are if the situation is dire enough, tactical gear will come in handy.

Even if you are not planning on any SHTF chaos, having an array of tactical equipment and clothing can come in handy. A tactical vest, for instance, has far more uses than self-protection during a food riot!

The key, though, is cost. Too often, people make recommendations for survival equipment that if you followed it to the letter, would break the bank.

The video on the next page covers basic tactical gear you can purchase relatively inexpensively but will suffice in all but the most desperate of situations.

    Terrible video.
This Canuck is ridiculous and looks like he’s still in 1999.
Why wear a “tactical vest” if it’s not some kind of body armor ???

You don’t want to be the only guy at LARP, I mean airsoft, without his tacticool gear!

Hi guys. 4 years army infantry. Easier access to magazines, much needed gear readily accessible. Convince of knowing how many magazines you have, first aid kit is easily attachable, well made gear can be used to help you climb and make and anchor position (better for hunting and getting a tactical position) you can easily put on a pouch full of survival gear. Body armor is readily available in most states. Militarizes have been working on better and better tactical vests since ww1. Even if you don’t get a plate carrier you can get a Vietnam era chest rig. Some may complain about weight, if you’re going to$#%&!@*about an extra 100-150 lbs you probably won’t survive. Just want you guys to consider it. If not a tactical vest at least a tactical belt is nessesary. Also buy Molle weave if you can.

To clarify that guys a retard. Never ever buy a vest you can’t arrange into your personal preference.

One last thing. I’m going to go ahead and endorse this chest rig. I used it during my infantry career. I’ve had other buy it as well. Much better than issued gear. It’s well built and it has quite a few features. You just buy the Molle pouches you want and weave them through. This thing lasted 4 years of bullshit. I still have it stuffed away somewhere since I’ve upgraded to plate carriers.$#%&!@*iotvs.

One mod is needed though. Get a strap sewn across the back. Cross straps suck d**k

To piggyback on you Thomas, if you guys are getting molle gear then you need to actually weave it! It doesn’t help if when you pull a mag the whole pouch comes with it, or if you get snagged on something. Great post and info Thomas.
