The temptation for most survivalists when planning and constructing a survival cache is to buy as much survival supplies as possible, particularly if they are on sale.

We generally do not pay much attention to where they are purchased.

A roll of paper towels on sale at the WallyWorld is just as good as a roll of paper towels on sale anywhere else, right?

That is not always true.

While you do have to factor in the “cost of doing business” – gas, time, etc., you usually can find basic survival supply merchandise that is less expensive at a local discount (Dollar Store, Dollar General, etc.) store.

You do have to check in with the discount store fairly often as their merchandise can change, but if you do, you can find great deals!
