The ratio of male to female survivalists tends to vary. In our research, we found one group where men dominated the head count at 85%. While other groups racked in men at 90% and women barely making the 10% mark.

Granted, these particular polls cited women who are “single, divorced and ladies whose husbands are not interested”. We might assume that at least some of the married women whose spouses are survivalists are probably semi-survivalists too.

But there are groups, outdoor organizations that have bumped up that figure and are training women, those who really want to break free from the ordinary, into sort of survival boot-camps. Basically, they are for women who want to be challenged.
