Let’s face it, utilities are sky rocketing, including the ever present water and refuse (trash). We always found it a little insulting that we had to pay for both when one or the other was not used from week to week.

Our trash, if the barrels were not full, could wait another week, and our water … Well yes, everyone uses water but when you end up with a Fall rainstorms or Winter snowstorms, who is profiting from those few gallons used for cooking or occasional showers?

Fortunately, the nice thing about most areas is they are monitored by their water consumption and this is where the ingenious idea of a rain barrel comes in handy. Why pay for water when you can get it free? Come on rain and melting snow!
