Stone Axe Head with Primitive Tools

Most of us prepare for a more conventional survival situation – A storm knocks out the power or destroys proper infrastructure and for a few days, even up to a week, we can make do.

If, however, you find yourself in a non-conventional survival situation, say you are hiking and become lost or get stranded deep in the wilderness, a whole different set of skills are needed.

One of those skills is the ability to make your own tools. In this case, using rocks collected in a river to fashion an axe head.

An axe head like this could be used to fell small trees and branches to use for fire and shelter. If you added a handle to it to increase leverage, it could be used to chop down larger fare.
