As we approach winter, it is critical to know how to keep yourself warm in a survival situation, particularly if you live in a rural area or go out in the wild a lot.
Not knowing this vital skill is all but asking for cold-related injuries, if not death!
If you find yourself with a broken down vehicle or get lost on a hike or experience a survival incident (such as power goes out for an extended time in a snowstorm,) understanding how to keep warm means much more than just comfort.
In extreme cold, you have mere hours. In routine winter cold, mere hours can extend to a few. Even if the temperature is not freezing, you risk hypothermia.
Cold is not anything to mess around with – even if you like a colder temperature to sleep!
We cover how to generate heat and keep warm in a cold survival environment on the next page.
