Even though you're a prepper doesn't mean you can't get stranded. And if you happen to get stranded during a collapse and don't have access to clean drinking water, you need to learn how to turn salt water into water that you can drink, without getting sick.

Depending on your current situation, finding water that you can quickly turn into clean drinking water might be easily said than done.

If you're in an area that only has salt water such as the ocean or salt lake and inland seas, this will require you to have a different type of skill. You will need to prepare your water for water differently than you normally would by filtering it.

With saltwater, you'll need to learn how to do desalination, which is a process that can be difficult without the correct tools. If you know you are in an area surrounded by a lot of salt water; you'll need to plan ahead and include the right supplies in your bug out bag.
