One of the most important survival skills you can learn is how to create a fire.

In a survival situation, fire is a must. It not only provides light and warmth at night, it can also be a vital source of protection, particularly if you are in the wilderness.

While there are many different ways of starting a fire, some are less labor intensive than others.

One way of quickly making a fire is to use a “fuzz-stick” to serve as your tinder. A fuzz stick is different than a “feather-stick,” in that the tinder particles are finer and will ignite quicker and easier.

If you find yourself in a survival situation, even in wet conditions, using a Ferro rod and fuzz stick is one way to start a fire with very minimal effort.
