Reuse Unwanted Materials by Creating a DIY Compost Bin From Wooden Pallets

There is a lot to be said for having your own compost bin. You will drastically reduce the amount of trash you are putting on the curb, and the compost makes an excellent supplement for your gardening soil, resulting in bigger, healthier plants and higher yields.

Many people simply put up a small ring of fencing for their compost piles or have a designated corner of the yard for a compost heap. However, with the application of very simple carpentry know-how and a few scrap materials, you can make an attractive bin near your garden for developing the nutrient-rich compost.

Scrap pallets are a wonderfully versatile source of materials for DIY projects. They are cheap (usually free, as warehouses are often more-than-willing to give away old pallets) and can be used for pretty much any woodworking project you can imagine.

For this project, all you'll need is a few pallets and some simple tools. To learn how to make this DIY compost bin, continue to the next page.
