Prepper BS You Must Stop Believing in Now… Before it’s too Late

1. The Golden Horde

The golden horde theory has been portrayed for years by survival authors, bloggers and fiction writers, but will the golden horde of hopeless refugees swarm like hundreds of thousands of locust from the cities to the countryside after an economic collapse?

No they won’t, not after an economic collapse anyways, in fact, I look for the opposite to happen, with hordes of people packing it up and leaving rural areas for the cities to look for work (when things settle down and after the initial riots that will occur in some areas). Recent examples of this happening after an economic collapse; include present day Greece, Argentina 1998–2002, the former USSR in the 1990s, New Zealand in the 1980’s and the U.S. Great Depression of the 1930’s.

In fact, I don’t see the “golden horde” heading toward the countryside at all unless the disaster is localized to the urban area that they are fleeing from such as after Katrina. Most of the supposed “hordes” will die (or be killed) in place waiting on the government to come in and rescue them before they would head out for the countryside.

I do know that any and all government resources will be put toward helping urban areas after such an event. As I’ve said before an economic collapse does not mean a government collapse – those in power will only tighten the screws and take from you to redistribute to the cities…

Even though preppers may think they know what will take place, no one knows for sure until they're actually living Doomsday. So instead of freaking out ahead of time, use common sense and prepare yourself for a variety of scenarios.

Take a look at four more common myths about survival after the break.

Idk I disagree. If you prepare yourself in an environment outside of “town” there’s no reason one can’t survive 4-6 years. If you only prep for 3 days that’s all you’ll get. If you prep for 4-6 years or beyond. That’s what you’ll get.

william… i am disagreeing with the idea of ‘marauding; at all… by definition that is looting and stealing… and can understand the ‘looting’ if your are nomadic, and find a stash… but come into my region with the intent of helping your selves to my supplies…and only one of us are goin to be needing those supplies,,, i am not looking for a fight, my plan is ride it out right where i am) a small wound with out medical help could become serious quite quickly… and difficult to forage for what you need with a bullet wound anywhere… but will fight if you try to maraud my stash….

Getting out of the city and living ing the Mountains or woods is probably the smartest move you could make. Should something as drastic as a complete financial meltdown occur, law and order I’d going to collapse very quickly. Stay in the city and you will die in the city. There are just too many gangs and too many bad people. Remember one thing,” there is a very thin line between law and order and total chaos”. ADVICE. Do what you can while you still can. There are far to many conspiracy theories out there for them all not to be true. Just look how our world has changed over the last 5 years… Start prepping.

I have realized the error of my ways by letting my neighbors know that I grow and can my own food, that I have case after case of these canned goods stored away and such. My concern is that in any short OR long term SHTF scenario is that these neighbors will come to me for help. Now, I am all about helping each other out in a time of crisis, however, when it comes down to being able to provide for my family for several weeks (or maybe even a few months) with the supplies I have or only being able to do so for a few days because I have doled out my goods to others, I am going to provide for my family. It is questionable at best to suggest that you move close to town and set up your homestead there. I have one neighborhood to contend with. Someone following your suggestion would have a whole community showing up at their doorstep looking for handouts. Sorry, I am struggling to provide for my own family as it is. I simply cannot provide for everybody else as well.

I agree with a lot, my main concern is rol…if the situation esculates past the ponr then military and police will act as a containment fence leaving many to fend for themselves for an unknown period of time. Reguarldess of the situation self preservation will always be the 1st law of nature and people will adhere to that before they are willing to step in front of the horde to help a stranger

No idea what you’re trying to say here. I click through 3 pages for #1 and #2 on your list and got TIRED OF THE DAMN CLICKBAIT! Isn’t 2-3 pages full of ads enough to give us the ENTIRE STORY instead of spreading it out over a DOZEN PAGES OF ADS? SMDH
