Life does not come with an instruction manual – much of it is learned, painfully, through experiencing it first hand.

Occasionally, though, some offer their own experiences so that we can learn from them without having to live through their mistakes.

Homesteading is a process of trial and error, which can be painful, but also makes it special when someone offers their own experiences as “learning moments” so we can avoid the mistakes they made.

The larger question is to what degree we listen and absorbs the lessons imparted; it is always better, particularly with homesteading or survival issues to learn from advice than to experience mistakes first hand!
