Richard Helmer you know, I am no Bible basher. I have been bashed enough myself with it by the Charismatics in my life and it’s not fun. Each to it’s own. But for the sake of your loved once read Revelation at least once in your life. IF it’s true we in for one HELL of a ride and maybe you remember something that can help. If it’s not true you lost about and hour out of your life reading an very graphic novel.

Ok I’m ready. The hell are we suppose to do? Brace for what? When? Am I suppose to have a 300 ft deep underground bunker with a years worth of oxygen, medical supplies, water and food supplies?

The Bible says that a star called Wormwood will hit the earth. Believers will be gone before that happens though.

Revelations isn’t just about the end times. It’s a summary of the beginning of time to the end of time

Asteroids don’t move. Comets do, and if they get too close, they are called meteors. I would think that NASA could get their terminology right.

We spend over 520 billion dollars a year on perpetuating wars to kill people and your outrage is directed at something that uses less than 20 billion dollars a year advancing science and technology and is working towards the ultimate goal of inhabiting places besides earth? You can’t convince me that your indignation is righteous no matter how many illnesses you pretend to be concerned about. Look no further than the endless dollars pouring into endless resource wars if you want to know why more isn’t spent on saving lives.

According to scripture, at least one more big one will hit the earth and wipe out a third of the population instantly.

If a big one was going to hit they would not tell many and would hide it as long as possble to prevent world wide panic and anarchy. They could not do anything about it anyway.

We’re not talking about wars, are we Nick? This post is about NASA. And, quite frankly, we shouldn’t have to waste billions of dollars trying to find another planet to inhabit. There’s nothing wrong with the one we have now, aside from the fact that we over populated it and wasted all its resources on complete bullshit. So what, you support the idea of wasting trillions of dollars in an attempt too relocate to another planet, so we can destroy that one as well? Like I said, there shouldn’t be anything wrong with this planet. Unfortunately this planet is inhabited by a species whose majority just doesn’t give a$#%&!@*

We werent talking about medicine either, yet there you were at the ready. Something something, glass houses. You’re going on about overpopulation while simultaneously saying we should figure out how to make people live longer and cure diseases that have curbed the population. I think if you’re going to do that you should have a contingency plan for where all those people might be able to live. You’re decrying the very thing that could solve the problems the medical research you’re advocating would present. Think about it. And the argument “there shouldn’t be anything wrong with this planet” is just a fabrication of a reality that doesn’t exist. Too many people and not enough space- so make more space.

I wasn’t talking about medicine. My post WAS about NASA and the money NASA was wasting. And to further support my thoughts on the idea, I gave examples of possible better ways to use the money. But you, you jumped right into wasting money on wars. With the way humans have treated this planet, we have no right trying to find another planet to inhabit/destroy. You know what else jumps around and destroys$#%&!@*every where it goes? Viruses. The human species is like a virus, like a flesh eating bacteria that just consumes and destroys. And then here you are, advocating we waste trillions of dollars looking for a new planet to destroy.

  20. Nick Evans said:

You arent even coming close to anything resembling logic. Compartmentalization and cognitive dissonance. You really need to decide whether humanity should invest in perpetuating itself or whether we’re a virus undeserving and should apathetically wait for the inevitable. I’ll gladly spend my 60 dollars a year on nasa without bitching about it.
