Make This Primitive Fish Trap

Fishing is one activity in a survival situation that if you do it correctly, is almost guaranteed to yield results.

It does, however, take a lot of effort and that means a lot of calories are burnt if you do it correctly (throwing your line in and hoping for the best is not “doing it correctly.”)

Utilizing a fish trap is one way of vastly reducing the effort it takes to catch fish.

Basically, once you have the trap constructed, you let it soak in a body of water and periodically check it to remove anything you catch. Construction aside, it is about as low-effort as you are going to find in regards to getting food in a survival situation.

On the next page, we show you one design for a fish trap, that while fairly complicated, would yield very good results.
