You may look at this title and think that this topic is going to be about how to discreetly carry switchblades, a pocket pistol, and brass knuckles.
While these weapons are excellent for defense (though their legality varies in each state), the topic we discuss focuses on a different kind of “low profile” weapon altogether.
In a world of mass hysteria over the potential threats of the “assault rifle,” which the media and people who don't understand firearms have now named public enemy number one, a low profile weapon today is a firearm that isn't noticeable by most people.
So to be underneath the radar and be a “gray man” it's important to have a weapon that won't draw a lot of attention.
To find out what you can do to keep yourself on the down-low and armed simultaneously, check out some relevant information after the break.

Are we talking about end of days here? If so an old school blunderbuss will shoot rocks if that’s all you got! I can make powder without electricity or a machine.
20 aimed shots rapid fire is far better than 5 aimed shots that aren’t rapid fire.
It’s not “spray and pray” when you know your semi auto rifle can make hits consistently.
Even if you do lay down covering fire for yourself, that is still a great tactic that you can’t do with a bolt action rifle.
Try packing 200 rounds of either with the rest of your gear a few miles and you might think a bit differently.
But isn’t the really loud ‘ping’ of the clip popping out after the last round a bad giveaway? It’d make more sense to use something you didn’t also have to carry a bunch of parts for. As far as gun battles go, I’d rather have mags and a drop pouch than the clips that are so easily lost.
And I meant finding them after shtf. Online ordering wouldn’t do you much good.
That’s only in the garand
Plus the us troops used that ping against the Japanese by dropping empty clips on the ground and blowing their heads off when they popped up
Agreed!
Some of the .117 and .22 pellet guns these days are worth taking a look at for small game. Just an opinion but I think for the discreetness factor they are worth the carry some would prefer a bow but I’d probly only be feeding myself so no need to drop a deer or hog. Plus the pellets are a lot cheaper and more lightweight than arrows.
Nope do it all the time in the falll
And if you really had planned on anything you would already have caches
The only purpose of a pistol is to fight your way back to your rifle.
Really? Consider th cheap, stamped, single use .45s we air dropped to the French resistance back in WWii with the intent of killing a German and stealing his$#%&!@*
1 is one 2 is one, make sure you have 2 of that model rifle for backup/parts
