Before we start singing the praises of this totally awesome little gadget that is taking the survivalist world by storm, let us preface this post by clarifying that we still encourage all of our readers (ourselves included) to educate themselves on the various ways to start a fire. Preferably the old fashioned way. There are so many options available, things we learned from our family growing up (those camping trips were the best), things our friends taught us and new and exciting things we've found on the interwebz. Bottom line: Keep learning new methods or at the very least, keep practicing the ‘ol faithful method you've been using to ensure your skills stay sharp and that you are prepared in the event you don't have something super easy available to you, like the one we're about to show you.

So yes, lighters are cool and we all have and use them for miscellaneous things. But this little guy is, well, really unique. And the reviews are all over the place. The people who love Live Fire yell and scream its praises. And as always, haters gonna hate.
