Booby traps are one of those things where if you have them, people will think you're crazy, and if you don't have them there may be a time you wish you did. Kind of like a life vest out on a boat. Sure you may hate wearing it, but when that boat crashes into a sandbar or submerged log you'll be glad you were wearing it if you get knocked out on the way into the water.

Giving yourself just a few extra seconds to get into your safe room or to your gun cabinet could be all you need to gain the upper hand in a life-threatening situation.

If someone breaks into your home, you already have home field advantage, but slowing them down with a painful injury certainly can't hurt your chances.
