Knowing how to make your own knives not only can save money, but in a survival situation it could be a very valuable way to create something to use for barter or even to create the knives you need to go about your daily work.

When I see videos on the Internet about making your own knives, a few things always stick out.

First, the folks in the video seem to have every tool known to mankind in their workshops. Second, they almost all rely on a lot of electricity to get the job done. Third, it is unclear if the power was out, how they would move forward.

Fortunately, you can create your own knives with hand tools – and a lot of elbow grease.
