Your survival shelter provides you with much more than just protection from the rain.

In a pinch, it can even be used to create a makeshift shelter for a survival type situation as this video shows.

None of these shelters were particularly complex, but in a survival situation, where shelter was a key necessity, any one of them would do. They would at least work until you could construct a more durable and usable shelter.

To hold off the elements or wind, any of these would work if positioned correctly.
