In a Survival Situation, an Extreme Winter Snow Fort Can Come in Handy

Building a snow fort or shelter is one way of ensuring you can stay relatively warm in a survival situation. Plus, if faced with a SHTF scenario, it can keep you alive for a very long time.

Snow is a natural insulator because of its density, and that means your body heat can warm a relatively large area with little effort other than being inside the shelter.

You can also augment the shelter by positioning a fire at the entrance to both provide heat and safety without putting yourself in danger of a collapse.

While it is not advisable to build a snow shelter in late spring, you can build one pretty much any other time there is snow on the ground.
