When I Saw Just How Easy It Is To Make A Roaring Fire Using Old Straws, I Put A Bunch In My Bug Out Bag. Not Only Is This Cool, But Straws Are Life Saving!

It's always a good idea to have a few fire starting tricks up your sleeves, especially if you find yourself in a survival situation. Having a variety of fire starting tools and methods in your survival kit or bug out bag affords you options when things are looking bad.

The last thing you want is to have only one method on hand, like matches or a lighter, and then have circumstances arise that make it impossible to get a fire going with just that one tool. Your matches could get wet, or your lighter could leak. For that reason, most survival sources will tell you to carry at least three methods of starting a fire, like matches, a lighter, and a sparking rod.

Not only that, but you should also carry some supplies that make catching a flame easier. Whether this is a fire brick or charcloth, having a method of holding the heat long enough to get a real fire going could make or break your fire starting ability.

    You guys are sooooo die hard SMH how about real advice like keeping fine wire steel wool and a 9 volt battery to start a fire….. Could start a hundred fires with a half dozen steel wool pads and one 9 volt battery…..

    Or water proof match kit… 20 gauge shot gun shell that’s been fired a piece of fine grit wet sand paper fill with matches stuff inside a 12 gauge shell then use wax to seal them together don’t use stick anywhere they could ignite and explode when you seperate the wax later lik
