How to Throw a Knife, Russian Army Style

Russian knife throwing

We have all seen in the movies when the good guy stops the bad guy when a well-placed knife gets thrown. It most cases it looks effortless and is also lethal.

Unfortunately, Hollywood fantasies are just that, and the reality is that knife throwing is a bit of an art that is only perfected through a lot of practice.

While its use in a survival situation is minimal, it is an important skill to possess.

As with your firearm, it is highly unlikely you will ever have to use a knife in an offensive or defensive manner, but having the skill is just one more way of ensuring you are prepared for the chaos of a survival situation or SHTF moment.

The video on the next page shows you the basics of knife throwing – Russian Army Style. Check it out!

Knife throwing is a last resort. You have a better chance holding the knife and using it against an attacker.

In 15 feet and you moving I still have better odds of survival holding the knife vs throwing it at you and praying I hit something vital

Besides I can stab you multiple times versus the once with throwing. Not to mention disabling cuts to the wrist, arm, shoulder area and if necessary thigh or hit arteries in the neck, armpit or thigh and have you bleed out once those are severed.

So yes, you may take me, but I won’t go alone.

That’s the same technique I used as an 11 year old Boy Scout in 1958. The guy in the blue Navy camies throws kinda stiff, needs to loosen up a bit.

I trust a knife over a gun as my primary weapon one on one. No chance of a misfire, jam, or missed shot.

Never separate yourself from your weapon…Even if thrown well, a knife won’t penetrate body armor nor will it insure incapacitation.

Javelin is for throwing a knife is an in hand weapon. That like throwing you rifle
