How To Survive In The Wild During Winter

Few situations pose more risks and challenges than surviving in the outdoors during winter. Not only is the landscape bare and more than likely frozen, but food sources are sparse; even animals only venture out when it is a necessity.

There is also cold, the threat of harsh weather, less daylight hours and you burn more calories warding off cold. The situation can go from dire to deadly in a matter of hours, sometimes minutes.

Paramount is the need for shelter and the fire, both critical priorities that require creative thinking. Once those are addressed, then you can think of food.

With proper preparation and some basic skills, you can vastly increase your chances of survival until help arrives or you figure your way out of the situation you are in.
