We would like to think that when SHTF that humanity will all come together and be friends and help one another through a difficult time. Sure, there are a lot of good people out there, but unfortunately when the collapse arrives a mob mentality may rule and — well — the weak may get weeded out.
Of course, this also will depend on as to how long the grid will be down and how long chaos will run rampant.
However, if history is our guide then it's important to protect ourselves and our families. Otherwise, we may all be consumed by fear, grief, and potential predators.
