Too often when we pack a survival kit, we design and construct a “one-size-fits-all” type of get-up.

In most cases, this probably works, but in some, it is just too much stuff.

You do not need a fully stocked survival kit, for example, if you are going on a day hike; in that case, a day pack is more than sufficient.
