Bruce Lee made the Nunchaku, aka Nunchucks, famous in 1970's action films. But they date back to the Song Dynasty in China and made their way to Okinawa in the 17th century.

Most historians think they were originally a threshing tool that was modified into a powerful weapon.

In terms of survival tools, Nunchucks are amazing as a close-combat, hand-to-hand weapon and can be used for striking and choking an opponent.

In a survival situation, when more traditional weapons are not available or able to be used, Nunchucks are one weapon that could mean the difference between warding off an attack or taking a severe beating.
