[VIDEO] How to Make Hardtack for Survival

Hardtack has been used for centuries as a simple to make, durable and nutritious food source.

In the American Civil War for instance, for either side, hardtack was a staple food for your average soldier, particularly when deployed into battle.

It originally was used to feed sailors traveling from Europe to what was then the “new world” and was called “ship biscuits.” When making the jaunt across the Atlantic, it was ideal because it was compact, durable and sustenance for the crew.

In fact, there are samples of hardtack in museums that are over 100 years old and still edible!

As a survival food, its most significant benefit is calories, but it also is high in Iron and Potassium as well as Selenium and Thiamin.

The video on the next page shows you how to make and store this amazing food source for the long-term.
