How to Make a Sasquatch Bed for a Bug Out Location

Initially, you want to start your sasquatch bed project with a couple of short logs. Make them about a meter or one yard long. They need to be thick. Put them on the ground under your shelter. Make certain they are a little farther apart, a little taller than yourself. This becomes important later. Then do the following:
* Lay two poles on top of your logs. Drive eight stakes into the ground (two in each corner) to hold everything in place. Then add another two logs.
* Add a layer of flexible poles for your mattress frame, making sure the stakes hold everything in place. There should be plenty of room under the bed to place hot stones underneath (without them touching the frame), to keep you warmer on the coldest nights.

In the end, you want to lay lots of soft vegetation atop your mattress frame. This way you will not feel the poles through your sleeping bag, which you will place on top of your finished bed.

There you have it! An easy and elevated bed!

Invite Big Foot over for a drink and to warm his furry bones near a fire and the party starts! Or just go to sleep. Either way, you are feeling comfortable.
