We all know that fire is one critical element to any survival situation – you need it to keep warm, cook food, provide comfort at night, even scare off critters or keep them at bay.

This is one of those “tricks of the trade” you probably will never have to use, but it is good to know how to use it if you have to do so.

Any reasonably clear liquid, including your urine can be turned into a fire-starting lens.

If you find yourself in a survival situation without your normal fire starting equipment, this method will work in a pinch!

All you need is a way to collect your urine, some plastic wrap and something to ignite.
