By using a wood fire, discarded water heater and a distilling process, you can create a virtually limitless method of getting yourself hot water.

Having access to hot water, in a longer-term survival situation, would not only allow you to clean dishes, but also to keep clean yourself – which would be good for health and morale reasons.

This guy used a discarded water heater he found to serve as his main water reservoir, but in a longer-term survival situation, the water heater you have in your dwelling would also work.

While this process is not quick, it does let you store greater amounts of hot water as opposed to heating water on an open flame or wood stove.
