This one is so simple it is almost head-smacking that it is not more well known.

Water, as any survivalist knows, is one of the “must haves” to survival. It doesn't matter what survival scenario you're facing – without water, you're sick in three days and most likely dead in as little as four days, depending on the environment you're surviving in.

One often overlooked source of water is moss, particularly if you are in a wooded or mountainous region.

Moss exists in just about every region of the world, which means that water sources have been literally under our feet, no matter where we live, for, well, forever.

One word of caution: You should purify water in a survival situation, even if it is as pure looking; you just do not know what parasites, bacteria or viruses could be lurking.
