Our first encounter with a no-bake oven happened when we were just a little girl. It was our Mother who had bought what I thought was a mere pot at a local fine foods store.
We were a meat and potatoes family so I wasn’t sure what it was all about. She assured me that the heavy pot she brought before me was worth the effort she was going to put into a noodle dish she wanted to bake.
Honestly, I never saw her cook the dish. I was at school all day and never gave it a second thought. But what she produced for supper that evening from what I would later learn was not just a pot but a Dutch oven had the family singing her praises!
