If you find yourself in a situation where you have no cooking pot or pan, but do have a potato (or several), you have all the utensil you need to cook an egg or other food.
With some innovation, you also can cook and eat the potato as well!
We use this method when camping occasionally on purpose to cook fish and potatoes for dinner.
Stuff the fish (and some spices) into the dug out part of the potato, wrap the potato in tin foil and cook for 35 – 40 minutes; the result is a deliciously cooked fish wrapped in an edible potato.
What else do you think can be be cooked in the potato using this method? Tell us below.

We do these in cub scouts. We call them “dinosaur eggs” and use foil so the entire potato is edible and there’s no burnt or chard parts which the kids won’t eat….lol.
