Nowadays, most people have lost this skill of knowing how to navigate by the stars. It's much too easy to bring along a compass or use our cell phones to find our way home or to our bug out location.

It's sad, but the truth is we really have no need of this knowledge anymore, so we've replaced it with stuff about the Kardashians, how to send a Facebook message, and the PIN codes for our cell phones.

But, if you find yourself stranded in the woods without a phone signal and no compass, knowledge of how to read the stars could very quickly become a lifeline back home.
