Most people will not have to worry about packing an emergency earthquake survival kit. While earthquakes can technically happen pretty much anywhere (there are a lot more fault lines than just the big ones at the edges of the tectonic plates), a good bug out bag consists of things you'll need in the most common situations.
However, if you do happen to live anywhere on the west coast of the United States, having a bug out bag designed for earthquakes is not only recommended, it's essential.
Having said that, there are an awful lot of things within the ideal earthquake bag that would be equally important in any other bug out bag, which is why it's important that everyone read this list and apply its lessons to your own SHTF plans.
