When items have fulfilled their purpose, they end up getting tossed in the trash without a second thought. Little do most of us know that doing that isn't necessary! With a little ingenuity and resourcefulness, we can repurpose our old materials and give them a new function.
Consider an old garden hose. It might be reaching the end of its lifespan and is looking pretty dirty. It may also be losing its structure, is wearing down, tearing, and maybe even leaking water. However, even though you can no longer use it as a gardening hose doesn't mean it won't work well to use in different ways!
There are actually an endless amount of ways you can repurpose that old gardening hose into something useful — even during SHTF!

When we used to go rappelling, we used sections of hose to protect the rope on the cliff’s edge.
