DIY Potting Soil Saves You Money And Is Healthier Than Store-Bought Brands

For those of us who have or think we have a green thumb, who have got the land plotted out where are garden will go, and are anxious to get it started, the idea of a DIY potting soil is ideal!

After all, it’s healthy and the more organic the better, right? Certainly, you can use the store-bought potting soils but there can be some odd chemicals in those bags of dirt. Who needs that?

One of the biggest ingredients to a great potting soil is good composting. So, if you haven’t started a compost pile you should. Natural ingredients can include the following: Hay, sawdust, twigs, newspapers, corn stalks, coffee grounds, fresh fruit leavings, grass clippings and weeds – among other things. All you have to do then is sit back, let time do its thing, and before you know it you are ready to make soil.
