You may not think you can get bit by a venomous snake while bugging out, but you can. I should know. When I was a young girl, my dad got bit by a rattlesnake. He was simply doing yard work on a Saturday afternoon.

Have my dad known how to identify the snake; it could have saved him from being bit. However, the rattler that bit him was a baby, which made it harder to identify.

By learning how to identify snakes, even babies, you can learn to recognize a snake by its coloring and head shape. As a survivalist, when the grid goes down you should be prepared. Part of this is knowing how to identify different types of snakes, especially the ones that are venomous.

Even though you know how to identify a snake, however, doesn't mean you're going to get bit. But it's still good that you'll know what snake you're dealing with in nature so you can get the heck away.

Most snakes are not venomous, but you never know what snake you may come across, especially if you're planning to spend a lot of time out in the wilderness. Don't allow a venomous snake to take you by surprise. Be prepared.
