Check Out This DIY Gas Mask for a Potential Life Threatening SHTF Scenario

DIY gas mask

Tear gas, smoke grenades, bioweapons, smoke from burning buildings; there are a lot of reasons having a gas mask on hand in a SHTF scenario could be extremely advantageous.

The one thing that is guaranteed to cripple anyone, no matter how much they've trained or how tough they are, is not being able to see or breath. For that reason, it would absolutely be in your best interest to pick up a gas mask either online or from an army surplus store.

You will not always have that advantage, though. If you're unable to get ahold of one or are unable to stock up on filters, you may be at a disadvantage should a situation arise in which one would come in handy.

Fortunately, you can make your own with some simple and easily attainable supplies. Learn how on the next page.

I actually made 3 of these. I use the very 1st one I made and gave the other two to some friends. They were better improvements.

This mask, that you spent 30 minutes making will protect your for an entire 2 minute period of a tear gas attack. VX gas will not only melt this bottle but will also melt your face and skin. This is useless in a modern biochemical warfare scenario. Even the best bio Chen suit with a proper gas mask will not do a good job with some of the weapon owed gasses out there.

Yep, I would trust a gas mask made out of a plastic bottle…please…do yourself a favor and spend a few bucks and buy one. Some things you don’t shortcut. If you are that cheap…well you deserve what you get. There’s a name for people like that…victims.

Made these a while back, but used a hose for fresh air intake on a closed container repair (welding inside a huge tank).

G and VX are nerve agents that have an oil base made to stick to surfaces not melt. I worked with chemical agents during my stay in the military.

Some people are on budgets so tight that they want to prep but can barely afford the essentials of emergency preparedness but you are right this is ment to be used as a last ditch effort when you have nothing else

This would be a McGyver situation. Being caught somewhere and not having your EDC bag and having to make due. But how many of you actually carry your mask in your EDC?!

Cover your face with a plastic bottle. Ya, that’ll work. Ya, no. Clearly you don’t understand how a mask actually works.
