Check Out This Abandoned Bug Out Cabin – Insane!

abandoned bug out cabin

It has become less so in recent decades, but the woods in the United States still has thousands of abandoned fishing and hunting camps as well as dilapidated buildings from houses to barns to garages.

Any one of which could be used as a bug-out cabin after a SHTF moment.

The risk is if an abandoned camp or residence is inhabited. The worst thing that could happen is that the owners of the building show up during the stress of a SHTF moment; that could be very problematic.

If you have no other option, however, utilizing an abandoned building could be your only way to find viable shelter; just plan on it being short-term.

What advice do you have for discovering abandoned camps or building in the wild? Let us know below.

Most interesting find I have run across was on a Turkey Hunting trip to Kansas. My wife and myself ran across what looked like either an old fort or some kind of settlement with stone walls. Had 2 levels with lower level done in a concrete floor. Most of it had collapsed, but one wall, which still had gun slits in the wall. In its day, it would have been a tough nut to crack by aggressors. I am guessing early/mid 1800’s, but only guessing.

Are your titles written by an attention starved 10 year old?

Click-bait titles are for kids, not serious adults.
