Proper knife care is important, especially when you rely on your blade for survival purposes. It used to be that folding knives required tools for takedown and cleaning, but with the new CRKT Homefront this process can all be done by hand.

The 3.502 inch AUS 8 brushed steel blade, with an HRC rating of 57-58, fits within a 6061 Aluminum handle and is styled to resemble a WWI heirloom. Unlike its inspiration, just a few quick steps allow you to completely disassemble the knife entirely by hand, a technology that’s been in development by the brand for over 10 years. And reassembling the Homefront is just as simple as reversing the process.

This new design makes the CRKT an excellent selection for an EDC/Bug out knife. It means you won't have to pack the tools for maintaining your knife in your go bag. All you'll need is a sharpener and you're good to go. The design is also excellent, as an aluminum handle will keep the knife light, yet you won't have to worry about it breaking as much as some of the polyurethane handles of some outdoor knives.
