Everyone looks for a bargain. It is part of human nature.

All too often, that includes our survival gear.

In some cases, you can get buy on the cheap, but beware. When you skimp on certain items, like survival knives, you potentially put yourself in danger by not having a tool that can do what you need it to do or can only do it for a short period of time.

Knives tend to be one item that you truly get what you pay for. That is not to say a less expensive knife cannot serve a role in a pinch, but generally, the reason that a knife is less expensive is because the knife maker was able to cut costs by avoiding features that would have driven up its cost.
