Never Worry About Getting Locked Out Of Your Bug Out Cabin Ever Again After You Learn Out How To Utilize A Bump Key. Picking A Lock In A Matter Of Seconds Is A Great Skill To Have!

Disclaimer: You will be shocked to learn just how easy it is to pop open most locks. While you may find this information to be enabling a new generation of burglars, the truth is that we could likely all benefit from this sort of knowledge.

For instance, you may forget the key to your cabin. In a bug out situation, the last thing you will be able to do is to go home and get it, and the last thing you'll want to do is smash in one of your windows.

While you may have a spare key buried somewhere on the property, it may be difficult to get to (like if you live in the Midwest and the ground is frozen eight months out of the year). Cue the bump key.

Learn how you can apply this simple method used by locksmiths to nearly any lock.

If you can break down the door of your oh my God the world is ending cabin, you need a better door.

I’m sorry but this is kind of a stupid “scenario” to use for an attention grabber for the article. I’ll go ahead and say, yes a bump key is a good idea in general and learning how to use it for a SHTF situation is good. That being said if I have a mind about me to have a bump key on hand, I’ll probably have my cabin key too.

I didn’t read it, but Bump Keys and 999 keys can legally be purchased and made.

Purchase a 1/8 inch rubber ring to put over the key. Allows you to tap repeatedly and have the key return to the start point. Helps save time.

It’s not so much about the lock quality as the pins inside. Mushroom pins can’t be bumped. Plus you need the proper blank to match the cylinder. Best off learning to pick. It’s far more universal.
