Camping Hack: How To Make Popcorn From A Beer Can

We have all be on a camping trip and realized that we forgot to bring something we really need (or several somethings if you are like me.)

Popcorn is a campaign favorite and using an old beer can (or any aluminum can) you can create this amazing “automatic” popcorn machine.

Before anyone brings it up, the heat-point at which popcorn pops is much less than the point aluminum melts (about 360 degrees F versus 1200 degrees F.) You do, however, want to remove all the paint on the outside of the can as that will burn.

In a pinch, however, this innovative automatic, beer-can popcorn popper will allow you to enjoy this camping favorite, even if you forget to bring a more traditional method of popping corn.

The video on the next page shows you how to make this amazing popcorn popper.

The only problem with this is aluminum beverage containers contain a polymer coating on the inside of the can, the coating contains a chemical called BPA (bisphenol-A) it is a xenoestrogen, endocrine disruptor and a carcinogen.enough of it leaches into the contents of beverages and canned goods but heating it up would really provide a nasty dose
