Bushcraft Clothing: What Works And What Doesn’t

When you go out camping and plan to stay out in the wild for a night or two, there are many things to consider. Naturally, you want to think about the supplies you are bringing with you, maybe your tent or tarp or even that new-fangled sleeping bag you bought at a sporting goods store down the block.

However, what about clothing? You might be surprised by what is available out there for overnight stays in the forest. Jeans and a jacket are probably not your best choices although I’m sure there are some out there that might disagree. You might also think that dressing lighter during those Summer months is sufficient – but not necessarily.

Please check out the video on page two. See what our hostess wears for her camping trips. She’s pretty much an expert survivalist, has studied the subject extensively and – from the sound of it – has learned from experience!

She has great ideas, personally I like a baggier pant for ease of movement throughout the legs

    Dear Friends,

Here in the USA, there is a plethora of options for rugged outdoor wear. Top quality brand name gear will generally cost you between $300 to $500 (including boots and coat).

For super tough outdoor and work clothing check out Duluth Trading Co. For low priced cargo pants with lots of pockets check out Haband. Of course you can find tons of choices at all the major outfitters.

For those of you on a tight budget in these trying financial times, find an outlet that offers military surplus or even foreign military surplus BDU’s (Battle Dress Uniform). Cheaper Than Dirt carries a lot of surplus gear, clothes and tools.

God Bless America and our Troops,
    OMK
