One major question that arises whenever someone starts contemplating building a bug-out bag is what materials, supplies and equipment should they include?
The tendency, even for some experienced survivalists, is to “kitchen sink” the bag and try and fill it with as much stuff as possible with little or no thought going into need versus want versus ease of transport.
All three of those components go into building an effective bug-out bag.
You must think about what you will need and unless you somehow have a lot of room, disregard a lot of what you may want.
Once that is done, you have to ensure you can in fact transport your bag easily; a bag that is a major undertaking to transport is a bag that eventually will be whittled down to something manageable.
To see some ideas of what should go into a bug-out bag, check out the list and advice on the next page.
