Be Warned About Dangerous Intruders by Making This DIY Perimeter Tripwire

Tripwire alarm

Having advanced warning of intruders comes in handy in a lot of situations. Needless to say, having some sort of trip wire that will let you know when potential threats are approaching is an invaluable resource in a bug out situation. To learn how to craft such a trip wire, check out the video below.

As the video explains, this device could come in handy for paintball or airsoft matches, and could come especially handy in SHTF situations. It's important to note that you'll want to check out your local laws to see if this is legal to craft in your area. It's likely that there won't be a problem, but just in case… don't store the supplies for this tripwire with any gasoline or gunpowder or other incendiary supplies.

If for some reason you ever get your place searched by the cops, the last thing you want is for them to think you're crafting explosive devices. That said, this is an awesome and useful tip for those of us who want to know when people are approaching who weren't invited.

No, in a real SHTF situation if someone comes to you with out announcing them selves they are going to harm u and your party.
    I say build traps.

You can cover your entire perimeter with this method fairly quickly. I’m going to put this one in my bag of tricks.

This is fast too, added benefit trespassers won’t be able to hurt you(add piece of pipe nailed to 2×12 for maximum effect

Being in the paintball and airsoft Industry I have to say a big NO to having these on our fields. Our insurance would not allow it. And trip wires are also a big no from insurance let alone a primer fired device. Now for the SHTF situation you bet I’ll make these along with my trip wire flares.

I have what they call drive way alarms.each one has 2 different tines plus high and low.so you can have uo to 8 and know instantly from the sound what area has been compromised.
Nothing would piss me off more than have an alarm go off and have to reset it because of an animal.
With the alarms .get gos off check your camera lay back down.

Forget a little noisemaker, take a mouse trap, and a 12 gauge shotgun shell, bend the wire that kills the mouse in such a way that it only strikes the primer of the shell, whittle a notch in the top of the trap that will hold the shell, point in the direction the supposed intruder will come from then rig your tripwire.

Or, do like me. Spend a few hundred greenbacks on a box full of microcontrollers, sensors, actuators and Web interface modules, and build your own systems that not only detect, but act accordingly in your absence. From inducing pain until police arrive, all the way to fatal if you so desire.

Money better spent. And you can have great fun in the learning process.
