Be Prepared at All Times and Know What the Freest States Are for Off-Grid Living

off grid US map

We always hope, in one way or the other, that when the grid goes down we will be prepared. That goes without saying but we are not just speaking about bug-out bags or bug in supplies.

We want to know that the area where we live in is free enough to allow us to do what we must do to live in relative peace during a time that will be – without a doubt – incredibly difficult.

Sadly, not all areas are created equal. Is your state survival friendly?

Likewise, knowing where the current best states to live in is one thing but knowing the worst states to live in is also vital. We cannot expect the government to step in and take care of us or regulate our state when the world is in chaos!

On the next page, we’ve included the current freest states for off grid living and also the worst states to live in! This list is important. You do not want your livelihood to be impeded by the crazier laws that might actually put your family in jeopardy!

Here is hoping you are living in the best place possible when the SHTF! Go take a look!

Yes in NY our taxes are higher, and gun control laws are stricter…..but they encourage rainwater collection and the use of solar panels.they also encourage growing and raising your own food, and support hunting….when SHTF,gun control laws and taxes aren’t gonna make one bit of a difference

my biggest concern with a bug out location you do not reside at is what do you do if you are not the first one to reach the location? would you have the capability to remove others when they are making use of the defenses you created to keep out others?

I agree. In California, we have our guns in spite of gun control laws and we can grow year round. Weather is temperate enough for people to make it and growing your own food is highly encouraged. And we do not have huge livestock restrictions.

From all of us Oklahomans, we ask that this stop circulating the net. I mean is it fair at all to suggest to 300 million people that they head for oklahoma, vermont, or alaska? What are we supposed to do then? This makes me so mad.

florida is off the list for sure . in the last 5yrs so many people have moved here local governments have been creating new loosely written beatification laws to enforce anything they can to create revenue . hell we have entire freeway err pay-your–way roads that protect gated communities by forcing you to pay to get on and off unless you live in said area . the good old days are over thats for sure

Somebody lied on this one. They have California on that list. And everything I’ve heard about it is contrary to this article.

The report said California is in the top 5 worst states not that it was one of the best. I had to look at it twice too.

You might want to take Oklahoma off of that list. No education and they are constantly trying to tax solar and wind
