This page needs to stop with the $100 Mosin stuff. If Mosins were $100 right now I’d buy a crate!

I found a FN 1950 mauser a few months ago for $200 at my local cabela’s chambered in 30-06 didn’t pass it up. Great rifle would be amazing for a backup hunting rifle at least where I live because of how thich the brush is.

Even though its not under $100 nowadays its still a decent price for how big of a caliber it is its a great gun just dont try and shoot alot of rounds in quick succession the bolt likes to swell with the heat

You don’t know the meaning of affordable. I paid $43.10 for my M44 in 1999. A year later, they were $200……..

I live up north and have been looking for any one under $300. They haven’t been under $100 in years.

Got my Mosin 91/30 about 6 years ago. 1943. Came with bayonet, dog collars, sling, oil/solvent bottle, multi-tool and a double cartridge case. $79.99+tax. Shop had a couple pallets-worth of them!

Great rifle. Accurate and powerful. Surplus Com-Bloc ammo is still cheap to buy (though it’s going up every dsy). Can still buy a 440 round sealed spam can for under $150. And the rifle doubles as a pry bar, boat oar, battle club or pike!

Were these the super cheap Russian rifles you mentioned a while back? James Funaro. This is awesome.

I have both, and they’re both great. Good luck feeding the Mauser cheaply these days. The Nag you can still feed on a budget easily……

Wouldn’t trust my life or my family’s lives to a rifle I purchased for $100 or less…..whatajoke

So a rifle that’s tough as nails, reliable, more accurate than most any open-sighted rifle and has more power and range than a .308 is a joke, just because they can be bought for $100?
That price figure has nothing to do with quality of manufacture and everything to do with the fact there are umpteen millions if them available world wide.

Matching numbers, 1943, k98 Mauser. Loaded to European specs, better ballistics than as 30.06. The rifle that pretty much all modern bolt actions are based on. 5 years ago paid $99 and got a bandolier of ammo thrown in for free! I’d would rather have it or a moisin than my ar (and I own three of those) why? Longer range, more accurate, bigger punch, I know it will take more field abuse than most modern safe queens that get fed the same exact ammo each time. Being a bolt action it will be last on the list of rifles to be banned. Good for a fire fight, no, but but if I can hit you at almost a 1000 yards, and your ar is good to 500, odds are good there won’t be close quarters battle. Oh one more reason, many states you can’t use an semi auto on deer, or if so, it must be a bigger caliber
