Imagine that you're watching an episode of What Not To Wear survival edition and all of a sudden you envision yourself as the star. The judges are deciding on what the worst wardrobes mistakes would be during a possible SHTF situation. Suddenly it's your turn — are you going to pass the test?
Post-collapse you'll suddenly find yourself transported back to the Stone Age. Many survivalists will end up retreating and disappearing into the woods nowhere to be found. They'll be at their bug out cabin passing the time by doing what they do best: surviving.
However, even if this sounds like you, you can't hide forever. Sooner than later your bug out cabin may be compromised or you may run into some people in the woods. If or when happens you'll need to be in camouflaged clothing so that you won't attract the wrong attention.
If you do decide to leave your cabin, the last thing you want to do is leave wearing full tactical gear. You know, a camo shirt, pants, and a military grade face mask. Oh, and of course you're carrying plenty of weapons.
Umm, sorry, but you're going to be the first person the looters target.
It turns out that wearing tactical gear post-collapse could get you killed. To find out why and what you should be wearing instead, head to the next page.

Stop with the videos….how about a list..
At night, flat black, nothing shiny or reflective or light color
Robert Forsyth
I couldn’t watch it. So much BS flowing out.
Bullshit.
Subdued colors, without anything that screams tactical is definitely the way to go. If you want visibility, use a blaze orange pack cover that can be found just about anywhere, but that can be removed and stowed in your pack when not needed. Solid black stands out like a sore thumb in the woods almost as much as bright colors do. There was a reason that the military used od green for so many years. At night, it allows you to blend into the background and is a more effective color than solid black. Today, with the development of night vision equipment, infrared, and thermal imaging, it really wouldn’t matter what you wear. If the people looking for you have this equipment, which the military and police most assuredly would, you are going to be discovered, plain and simple. His point about blending in with the rest of the population if you have to travel is a valid one. The main purpose of camouflage is to keep you from standing out from the rest of the crowd. Anonymity is security and prevents you from drawing unwanted attention. There is a reason that sheepdogs were bred to look like sheep. Fit in and hide in plain sight.
makes absolute sense
f**k this page
die-hard?!?
Sure thing buddy.
Cover wear made from doe/buck skin. And at night or day, always walk and travel in low areas when possible, avoid line of sight.
You people need to worry more about living in today’s society, rather than a mythological apocalyptic one.

Hot pink camouflage is the only way to go
Yeah, wear corpse paint, black leather and spikes LOL. Who’d WANT to notice you? 😀
Isn’t it better to have something and not need it, than to need something and not have it?
With your rhinking, you should just hand over your savings account to me now…you won’t need it…
There are degrees
Culottes?
Or a nice lingerie set?
Yippee ki-yay mf!
You want to go unnoticed subdued colors like gray work well.
I wish it started tomorrow.
My concern, is that if I look “Too Weak$#%&!@*
It will invite an$#%&!@*whoopin’…
Same mentality that attracts Bullies in grade school
David Neilson is right. Many of the “blend in tactics” that “may” be useful post-apocalypse will probably be the same things that keep you safe now! I make a statement every time I wake up, I don’t need to make a fashion statement too.
5.11 gear. Endurance of Cammies and colored like them but civilian clothing.
Thats what I have been saying . Lol . Use proper camo as your mission dictates only .
Actually flat black at night is not good . It makes you stick out . Use other colors like a camo made for night has black, gray, blue even .
It all depends on where you are. What works in Long Island probably won’t work in south Texas. City vs country etc… There’s a lot of difference between Los Angeles and north Idaho.
Meat? Ammo boxes? Gold-Coin-Sequined jacket?
Read ” One Second After ” some idea of what it might be like. For me, hoping I’ve moved on to the other side
I’m dressing like a bum my bug out bags are stashed I’ll very little with me when$#%&!@*hits the fan multiple stashes in multiple direction for multiple oeople
Believe it or not, one of the best colors at night for you to use to disappear is a dark red. It blends into the background, doesn’t reflect light, and doesn’t make you look like a black hole in the shape of a human being. There is more to the concept of camouflage than just color. Breaking up a recognizable silhouette is just as important, if not more so, than what color you are wearing.
And make sure to remove your “Hillary for Prez” bumper stickers
Thanks
Christmas sweaters…
So very true!!!! Grey is the best camo
You don’t need to look like a$#%&!@* but Rambo would be the first target.
Unless they actually voted for Hillary. Those people need to be identified first.
Shut your mouth! DAME !
You. Lol
Probably a good video if I could get it to play for more than 10 seconds…
Ya know some of these people on here talk$#%&!@*about people being ready for the mythological apocalypse, but when I grew up my parents grandparents all had stashes of things that they might need, they had food for a couple of years they did it to survive if anything happens, I still do this to this day and I taught my kids to do the same it’s called survival not paranoia
If you don’t have a prearranged group, everyone is a threat. Who gives a$#%&!@*what you wear? I’ll have core armor.
I see you…
Patience, and no trails…
Numbers, walk single file, step in the same foot steps.
Totally agree.Even the deer love to use ravines to travel.
Steve corell from late night TV people.
It depends where you live. In south Louisiana, camo of all styles is worn everyday by all kinds of people. So I wouldn’t be “sticking out” in a SHTF wearing a camo shirt and brown work pants.
This is more like it, nobody will take you seriously
