Locating a fresh water well is most important, preferably close to where you have decided to bug-out.

Most preppers and old timers like the idea of  “divination.” You probably have seen these men and women in old-time movies with their divining rods or a green willow “twitch.”

Twitchers will walk with their rods, holding them parallel to the earth; when the twitch or rods begin to vibrate or dip toward the earth then it is usually determined that water has been found under the earth and it’s time for digging!

The more modern of these divination experts use a pair of L-shaped steel wires. They are of equal length, about six inches long! It is also said the use of PVC pipe is important in not getting a false reading!

    Those well points stop up a Lot I’ve had some good luck with hand drilling wells with a homemade drill I made from black thread pipe and a old mobile home auger(tie down) I can drill to bedrock
